Grand Giveaway of the Season

I've never participated in a giveaway so I thought I would make my first venture into this new world with aplomb and in concert with the last days of my March Madness Sale! My friends at Singing Three Little Birds are hosting the giveaway.

I chose one of my Fine Art Photograph Limited Addition Prints to giveaway for this event. The giveaway is called "Spring Peony" and was photographed by myself in 2009. It is printed 16x20 on archival paper and is signed and numbered.

Merry March Madness

I rarely blog solely about my CremeMagnolia Etsy Store but this morning I wanted to share the huge sale I have going on right now. Since March is and always has been my best month of the year (both local and online) I decided to share the wealth with my Etsy clients and offer a 25%, yes twenty-five-percent discount on everything in my store. My inventory is very diverse...has to be, I'm a very diverse woman!

I sell hand cut mosaic tiles that are used by not only mosaic artists, but jewelry and altered art crafters as well. Here are a few examples:

Crafters are always looking for unique items to incorporate into their projects and in that vein I also sell designer glass gems.

Two of my passions are fine art photography and antique porcelain china. I love to photograph beautiful flowers and stills that interest me. I have two new sections in my store, one for antiques and one for art. The following are a few examples.

My photographs are 16x20" and are professionally reproduced by a processor in New York and available on both canvas and archival matte finish paper. Each is a limited addition, signed and numbered.

I have collected antique calendar promotional plates for many years. When they were first developed around the turn of the century, they were given to customers by businesses such as banks, grocery stores and the like. My offerings are either approaching 100 or over 100 years old! Below are two examples.

I hope you will drop by my CremeMagnolia Etsy Store and browse around during my March Madness Sale. I have something for everyone, especially if you need a unique gift!

Through the Eye of the Lens Three

In my blog yesterday I discussed photography for commercial purposes yet I have a proclivity to take photographs from the side of the road. I love rustic images that more times than not have no commercial value. In my Etsy Store I offer photographs that attract clients who want to decorate their homes or offices.

Today's photographs are some of my favorites as I was in most cases in the middle of nowhere and they just presented themselves to me.

Throught the Eye of the Lens Two

Photography as a business to some is a difficult medium to master. One, because lighting is so very important and two, because finding a commercial subject is not always easy. Myself, finding a commercial subject is a non-issue as I take pictures of the things I like. Flowers are one of my favorites as are rustic, typically not commercial subjects. In tomorrows blog I will share some of my non-commercial subjects but for today I will share more of my floral shots to demonstrate the ease in which flowers can be photographed. Of note: Your subjects could be sitting in the checkout line at your local grocery store!

All three of these subjects when sized to 16x20 demonstrate how you can capture the most delicate aspects, such as a dew drop minutes from evaporation.

See you tomorrow with some of my lesser commercial photography, which by the way happen to be some of my personal favorites!

Throught the Eye of the Lens

I like art of all kinds but I especially love art that is created through the lens of a camera. I have thousands of images that one day will become art via print or canvas. Today I put several limited addition pieces in my Etsy Store that are some of my favorites. Over the years I have sold many of my photographs that now hang in client homes or offices.

All my photographs are original and copyrighted to protect not only myself but that of my clients.

I hope you enjoy what I see through the lens of my camera.
